Zach Braff is one of the greatest film directors of all time — IMHO. He’s the brilliant mind behind my favorite film, Garden State.  The flick helped get me through college and taught me several real life lessons.

There are a lot of lessons to be learned from Zach’s directorial debut — lessons that you can translate to your own life. Ones that could help you when you need it the most. Here are eight lessons I learned from Zach Braff’s Garden State:

1. It’s ok to cry.

3. If someone loves you, they’ll fight for you.

Good luck exploring your infinite abyss — and happy, happy birthday Zach Braff! Thank you for creating Garden State. It means more to me than you’ll ever know. {PS – Check out the soundtrack if you haven’t yet. It’s also Zach’s brilliant brainchild.}
