George Strait has melted hearts since he released his first single way back in 1981. The King of Country has had a whopping total of 60 No. 1 hits alone, many of which are romantic love songs sure to woo any woman.

King George Strait loves a good love song (almost as much as he loves a heart-wrenching breakup song), so it was tough picking his best romantic tracks. He’s known for his songs about the love story we all want, whether it’s a love story from childhood or a man professing his “true” love to his woman.

Here are George Strait’s Top 5 love songs:

5.  “True”

Strait released “True” in 1998 and the up-beat song is a man professing the “true” love he has for his significant other. This wasn’t one of Strait’s No. 1 hits, but it came close — peaking at No. 2

4.  “Carried Away”

“Carried Away” came in 1996 and it was his 30th No. 1 hit. It also earned him a Single of the Year nomination at the 1997 Country Music Association Awards.

3.  “Carrying Your Love With Me”

Strait’s “Carrying Your Love With Me” was released in 1997 as a single from the album of the same name. This was another one of his No. 1 hits and helped give him even more success in his legendary career.

2. “Check Yes or No”

Does it get any cuter than “Check Yes or No”? I think not! The sweet song is a love story from childhood — with a little boy telling his lifelong romance that began with him asking a little girl to “check yes or no” if she liked him. Aww!

1. “I Cross My Heart”

“I Cross My Heart” was another No. 1 for Strait and it was the first single from Pure Country. It was also featured in the finale for the movie of the same name.
